PN's Dr Afif says he will give statement on 'Save Malaysia' rally to cops on Sept 18

KUALA LUMPUR: Dr Afif Bahardin says he will give a statement on the "Save Malaysia" rally to the police on Monday (Sept 18).

The Taman Medan assemblyman from Perikatan Nasional confirmed this in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Sunday (Sept 17).

"I have been invited by @PDRMsia (the police) to give a statement regarding the 'Save Malaysia' peaceful assembly in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday (Sept 16).

"God willing, I will be present at the Dang Wangi police headquarters at noon tomorrow to have my statement recorded," he said in his post.

The Save Malaysia rally on Saturday concluded without any untoward incident.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid said although the rally failed to comply with provisions of the Peaceful Assembly Act, the police took every necessary step to ensure that it ran smoothly.

The rally began at around 1.15pm at Masjid Jamek Kampung Baru and ended near Sogo Kuala Lumpur at around 3.30pm.
